Entering the house, views expand to warm, large, open spaces and out into the woods beyond. The boundary between inside and outside dissolves. Seasons create constantly changing \u2018landscape scenes\u2019.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Other structures are quite distant in winter and unseen in summer. There are always beautiful private views.<\/h1>\n

Living is oriented toward the surrounding woods and the gardens \u2013areas of constantly changing, vibrant color that\u00a0<\/strong>are reflected inside the house. The landscape plan with its curved beds\u00a0<\/strong>give meaning and definition to the spaces outside.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The <\/strong>house feels profoundly<\/strong>\u00a0\u2018connected\u2019 to the ground <\/strong>\u2026<\/strong> to the natura<\/strong>l wooded setting<\/strong>\u2026 in a driving snow storm \u2026 on a warm sunny summer evening …or a moonlit dusk. \u00a0There is a welcoming \u201cquiet and calm\u201d, a generosity and openness, felt by<\/strong> the residents each day and all visitors who think of coming to the house as an “experience”<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/h1>\n

In the original structure, varieties of wood and stone materials reinforce a sense of ‘natural’. In the new areas, walls and window trim are painted in the same color \u2013creating direct interaction and experience with the outdoors.<\/h1>\n
