The
images in this work come from the 'drops', the 'in-between', the 'shadows'
of the dance drawing pieces cut for the other Marks and Messages sculptures.
These pieces were cut by a plasma-arc electric torch in a steel foundry on
the hottest of summer days, August 6, 1991. As this was an anniversary that
I have always marked, the title for the piece became representitive of the
shadows and ghost marks left after the atomic blast.
